Skimming Watermeal Video

This long video shows a ProSkimmer System methodically removing a thick layer of watermeal from a large pond. Shot from onshore at a long distance, it shows a perspective view of the nearly 1 inch thick carpet of fine, granular watermeal on this lake being digested by the System. This video is shown in actual time (as are all of the videos here) and clearly shows the volume of weeds being collected. While it can be difficult at first to see movement, pick out a larger clump and watch as it slowly, inexorably moves towards the System and is ingested.

Collecting Watermeal Video

Here is the onshore collection unit at work on watermeal. Notice how large lumps of watermeal collect, then ooze off the end of the collection chute. The large volume of weeds collected in a short time is why we urge you to plan for disposal of the weeds in advance.

Skimming Duckweed: Pond's Eye View

A close up view of Duckweed being ingested into the System. This video allows you to see the rate and flow of the System as weeds are ingested, entrained in the vortex, and digested by the pumping system. Shot at near water level, this video’s soundtrack may seem loud, but that is only because the camera was so close to the action. On shore, the System is barely audible.

Skimming Duckweed Video

This lengthy video of the ProSkimmer System removing Duckweed was shot on a day after a heavy rainstorm near the end of the removal of a large volume of Duckweed. The previous night’s rain and the then-current and fluctuating breezy conditions had dispersed the remaining Duckweed on the pond into scattered clumps. Yet the System still pulls it in. Watch as the large clumps are pulled to the System and ingested, even from far away. This video was shot on a pond near a highway, which produced the background noises evident on the video. At this distance, the System itself is almost completely silent.
